Mohsin Kalam

Mohsin is a Co-Founder and CTO of Xfoil Pvt Ltd, a fast booming fintech startup digitizing cash transactions in supply chain, logistics and other verticals across Pakistan. He brings 17+ years of software development to the firm specializing in distributed systems, cloud computing and algorithms

In 2005, he started his career at Microsoft in Seattle, where his most recent position included overseeing the data pipelines to determine the health of windows update service. His span of 10 years at Microsoft involved shipping multiple products and web services E2E in an agile team-oriented environment, leading teams of culturally diverse engineers and vendors, collaborating with various internal and external customers and partners that span cross globe, reporting & communicating at director level and managing stakeholders with focus on revenue & delivery.

He moved back to Karachi in 2015 where we he started consulting for international clients specializing in modernizing their tech stack and migrating them to cloud. His efforts resulted in millions of dollars in saving associated with eliminating complex legacy software that were hard to maintain and incurred regular downtime

For the past year, he is involved with an early stage fintech startup directly responsible for providing technical roadmap, laying down the technical foundation, hiring and retaining tech talent. Under his technical leadership, the company has continued to increase their GTV month after month resulting in a 10X increase in valuation in 6-9 months of operations.

Mohsin is well connected in the technical industry both in Pakistan and abroad and he consistently strengthens his network by collaborating with other co-founders and attending technical talks. He also stays abreast with the recent technical trends in his field, enabling him to provide an optimized solution to any technical problem at hand. His diverse international experience coupled with his strong communication skills enables him to lead with empathy and resolve ambiguities so that his team and projects stay on track.

Mohsin holds a Bachelor of Science (high honors) in Computer Science and Bachelors of Arts in Business Economics from University of Texas at Austin.
